UFC 104 was an entertaining card. I am going to jump right into the main event with Shogun and Machida. Shogun was hammering Machida with leg kicks that heavily reduced Machida's stand up game. Personally, I feel that Shogun clearly won at least 3 of the 5 rounds, namely rounds 3,4, and 5. The first 2 rounds could have been given to him as well, but Machida did have a flurry towards the end of the early rounds, as well as a damaging knee.
The unanimous decision to Machida was probably one of the most controversial decisions this year and perhaps in UFC history. Machida did have a good amount of cage control, was the aggressor most of the fight, and did have great takedown defense. Maybe those factors put him over the top, but unanimous decision? Wow.
I would not be surpised if Shogun gets a rematch very soon. I wonder if they will square Shogun off against Evans to see who gets the next crack at Machida.
Jesse -Madman- Diaz is no one to mess with.
Thank god I was not in the octagon with them.
I agree with you Phil. I`m not going to say the fix was in, but this was not fair to shogun in any manner. As much as I wanted Machida to win IMO it was clear he didn`t.
