XFX HD-485X-YDFC Radeon HD 4850 512MB Review

One of our users requested a good ATI video card.

This is the one we came up with:
XFX HD-485X-YDFC Radeon HD 4850 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card

It's a very nice card, in terms of specs, not as good as the Nvidia card we reviewed but for $169, this would be the card I would buy. Personally, I like how ATI cards function in comparison to Nvidia, from everything to their driver updates/support and native overclocking utility via ATI Catalyst Control center.

It is crossfire ready, I am not sure if you can link this with the 3850 crossfire cards, but I think you can. That would be part of a serious machine if you did a crossfire link with this card.

Someone should teach Cody how to summarize all his information into one post. Over a 20 minute time frame he managed to make 4 posts. Way to be efficient dude.

As a side note try and keep your video card under 75 degrees celcius or so to keep the lifespan of the card at its maximum ^_^

If you are interested in a relatively cheap yet effective solution to video issues this is the way to go rather than spending 500.00 on a video card that will just be 200.00 in 6 months

As I have said before and Ill say it again make sure your case has good airflow to make the lifespan of your CPU and GPU and other hardware last longer.

If you buy this card Enjoy ^_^ XFX makes a fine product indeed and they haven`t let me down before I don`t see why the should now.

Ok, I don`t deal with ATI cards much but what I will tell you is that between ATI and Nvidia both types have their advantages over another. Nvidia video cards are able to render games that has a higher dependancy on Physx such as mirrors edge than an ATI card would.

for this card just as an estimate ill rate its power consumption at about 150 watts
