So the other day I was building a comp out of old parts I had. One of the parts I received was an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro. (yes its for an AGP motherboard) It had a dinky VGA fan on it and I was messing with it and I accidently broke the fan.
I did not want to spend $14 bucks on a good VGA cooler and I definitely did not want a crappy replacement fan, so instead I just built a PCI Slot cooler that blew directly on the card. It actually sat like 2cm away from the actual heatsinks so it was keeping the card very cool. Typically fans suck air off the heatsink of a video card, but I figured a large case fan blowing directly on it would suffice, and it did.
I built it so you could change the angle of the fan so it can blow on other components. I also tied 2 twist ties that you get in the supermarket for your veggie and fruit bags to the fan. This way I could twist tie the fan to a bracket near my 5.25 bays which would add more support for the fan and prevent it from drooping (even though it doesn't)

As ghetto as it looks, it works well. It doesn't have to be used to just blow on a Video card heatsink, you can just have it in there as an extra case fan to help circulate the air.
